CAUSATIVE

Hello... I'm coming... :)
Now I would like to share about CAUSATIVE.
Causative is a form that indicates that a subject causes someone or something else to do or be something, or causes a change. Causative has function to help us to conduct the action or meaning in the sentence which means the action is done by people whom you attributed to. Verbs which can categorized as causative are let, make, have, and get.

1.      Let
The function is to allow someone to do something.
For example:
·         John let me drive his new car.
·         Will your parents let you go to the party?

2.      Make
The function is to force someone to do something.
For example:
·         My teacher made me apologize for what I had said.
·         Did somebody make you wear that ugly hat?
·         My friends made me join them.

3.      Have
The function is to give someone the responsibility to do something (request/command).
For example:
·         I had the mechanic check the brakes.
·         Dr. Smith had his nurse take the patent’s temperature.

4.      Get
The function is to convince someone to do something or to trick someone into doing something (persuasion).
For example:
·         Susi got her son to take the medicine even though it tasted terrible.
·         The government TV commercials are trying to get people to stop smoking.
·         She finally got the teacher to give an A+.
